[Nue had lurked around the places she thought she might find Kariya. When he hadn't turned up immediately, she had gotten bored. So, rather than waiting longer or searching elsewhere, she just sends him a voice message on his pendant a fair while before the sun sets.]

Kariya— You still want to be allies, right? My partner wants to ask some things about the War.

[Because she isn't calling someone her Master, dammit.]

[He's not expecting to receive a communication, especially not so soon, so he starts at the sudden sound from his pendant, but he's ready enough to respond to Nue.]

Yes, that's right. I am. [He's more than a little pleased he's being taken seriously as an ally.]

[He's still feeling pleased to have his advice asked. People usually don't ask him for his advice. Especially not when it comes to something as serious as the Grail War.]

There's no rule that you both can't fight, but usually the Servant is many times stronger than the Master. [His own had been.] A Master can do whatever is necessary to win.

I was going to fight, in my War. [He just hadn't found Tokiomi yet.]

Usually Masters are magi and can use magecraft. A magus knows how to cast spells. I don't know very much about spells either, but I can try to answer any questions you have.

The name's Goku. And while I'm not strong, I ain't weak either! So we'll see about that! [He does sound noticeably more relieved to hear that Masters can do whatever it takes.]

Nnn, wait, so what was that Command Spell those guys mentioned? Pretty sure I'm not a magicraft or whatever you called it.

And what about Masters having to give magic energy to their Servants? [Nue's voice cuts in.] How're they supposed to do that?

( Rukia hadn't been sure what she was feeling at first; whatever it was, it had surprised her during her research. it felt like a constant tug on her powers, something that had been explained to her as 'prana' - not that she knew what that meant, really. still, her first thought was for Kariya.

she'd thought that he was just going out for a walk, to scout. she didn't think that he'd pick a fight this early. he might be a little distracted, though, because he's got one worried mistress Rukia on the line. )

Kariya-san. What is happening? I can .. feel it, are you being attacked?

[He breaks off in order to execute another attack, striking Lancer with a trash can and a blood whip, not that either seems to do much good.]
